I put together another little project today!
In another post, which can be found HERE, I showed what I did with one of a set of outdated framed pictures I had.
What I started with...they were old greeting cards that I framed sometime in the 90's and I just couldn't bear to look at them a day longer, so I decided to renew them and make something more up to date.
The before:
The first thing I did was to repaint one of the mats. I used a little bottle of Americana craft paint that I had....the color is Hauser Light Green. Using a 1-inch foam brush, I applied 2 coats of paint.
Using an inexpensive can of matte black spray paint, applied 3 coats of it to the picture frame.
The last thing I did before putting it all together was to go to Wordle to make the 'print'.
I just love this website. For those of you who may not know about it....you can type in a list of words, a sentence or paragraph, and it will arrange the words into a 'word cloud'. After you generate your word list, it gives you the option pick different colors, the arrangement of the words, whether you want the words horizontal or vertical or both, there are quite a few different fonts to play around with.
I just typed the names of some green vegetables, then I selected several shades of green, the font I wanted to use, then printed it out.
As far as I could tell, there is no way to save the word cloud, you have to just print it out when you are done making it, and it doesn't let you select a size...it automatically printed mine out to fit an 8'x 10' frame, but I wanted to use my mat which has a 5x7 opening. I personally didn't like how it looked in an 8x10 frame....I don't like things too symmetrical and liked how my 5x7 mat covered part of the words.
Here is the painted frame, and the printed word cloud:
Since I re-purposed an existing frame and mat, and I already had the foam brush and paint, this project ended up costing me....nothing! I like those kind of projects. :)
Here it is all finished:
Again, there is that ugly shelf that I need to replace, but for now, this is where everything is sitting.
I welcome all comments...please let me know what you think, and have a great day! :)
